  • Cottonwood Community Library Book Sale

    The entire meeting room of the Cottonwood Community Library will be filled to overflowing with all types of books for all types of readers. Hardcover books, paperbacks, children’s books, DVD’s, and books on tape or CD will be for sale.

    The book sale will be held on Friday, April 23 and on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 11:00am – 2:00pm both days. The Cottonwood Community Library is located at 3427 Main Street. Prices start at 25¢, so come early for the best selections. All proceeds benefit the Cottonwood Community Library. For more information, please call the Library at 347-4818.

  • Shasta Land Trust Wildways Kickoff

    Since 1998, Shasta Land Trust has led efforts to identify and conserve significant lands in the north state that provide local benefits such as open space, wildlife habitat, scenic views, recreation, and working agricultural lands.

    Now, we want you to join us for a Sunday evening from the comfort of your own home - the easiest way to support local land conservation!

    Tickets include a delicious BBQ meal prepared by O'Dell Craft Barbeque and dessert from Milkhouse Cookies, which can be picked up at the Shasta Land Trust office between 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Tune in virtually at 6:30 pm to hear from special guest speakers about why conservation is so important in our community and enjoy music by the beloved Buckhorn Mountain Stompers. Tickets for the Wildways Event Series will go live at 4:00 pm the day of the Kickoff. Our fundraising events include exclusive access on several of our protected properties, as well as expanses of open space, and other secret spots throughout the 2021 season. These tickets sell out quickly and are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis.
    In addition, silent auction items will be available for bidding on April 18th, with winning bids announced at 9:00 pm on the night of the Kickoff.

  • Shasta County District Attorney's Office 2021 Denim Drive

    My name is Briona Haney, I am the Community Education Specialist at the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office. This April we will be hosting a Denim Drive for Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Denim Day 2021 (denimdayinfo.org).

    The Denim Drive will go from April 1st – April 28th. We are asking people to donate new and gently used denim clothes to the Shasta County District Attorney’s Office 1355 West Street, Redding CA 96001 Mon-Fri from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
    We have a flyer we can send to you. But we do not have a website.

  • The Friends of the Shasta County Libraries Used Book Sale

    On Saturday, May 1st, The Friends of the Shasta County Libraries will hold a book sale for the first time in over a year. FOSCL has been unable to hold monthly sales due to Covid-19 restrictions The sale will be in the Community Room of the Redding Library located at 1100 Parkview Avenue from 10am-1pm. Masks and social distancing, in addition to limits on the number of people allowed in at any one time will be observed.
